Mértola ring
For the craftspeople of past centuries and their contribution to original jewelry design. Mértola is a small town in Portugal along the river Guadiana. A few years ago my husband and I stumbled upon this enchanted village. It was dark, late at night on a road trip from our then home in Spain. When we woke the following day the whole town was cloaked in an eerie fog, the temperature was crisp and on the edge of frost. We strolled the cobbled streets for a coffee and discovered a surprising UNESCO world heritage site, the town was truly magical filled with archaeological treasures dating back to the 2nd century bc.
Each ring is individually handmade solid raw bronze created from metal clay, fired in a kiln and finalized through various cleaning and polishing processes. They are each one of a kind. The photos are examples of what you will receive and will slightly vary in shape but hold very similar characteristics.
Please see my ‘Keep and Care’ section at the bottom of the homepage to learn how to look after your new rings.
I always aim to have your jewelry finished as soon as possible, however it may take up to 3 weeks to finish and ship. If you need a piece sooner please feel free to contact me.
